Pressure Luxury Detox Pedi aftercare tips for wax, gel polish, cooling gel, hot stones, and sugar scrub

If you were indecisive on polish and we helped you land on the perfect gel color, here's the rule that protects that fresh finish and your soft skin the most: for the first 24 to 48 hours, keep your feet mostly clean and dry and skip long soaks. Avoid hot baths, swimming, heavy exercise, and direct sun. This is the window where waxed skin can get irritated fast and gel polish can lose its best shine if it stays wet too long. If you're leaving us in Hampton and heading back toward Mercury Boulevard or I-64, these quick steps on the drive home matter more than people think.

Your first 24 to 48 hours after steam, wax, gel polish, and hot stones

Our Pressure Luxury Detox Pedi is a full 120-minute reset, detox soak and steam with fruit and rose petals, followed by paraffin wax, cooling gel, hot stones, cuticle and nail care, gel polish, and a sugar scrub massage. Your aftercare should match the service. Simple, gentle, and timed.

48-hour priority: Keep feet mostly dry. No pools, hot tubs, ocean trips, or long baths. Quick shower is fine, but don't let your feet sit under hot water.

Do this the same day

  • Wear open-toe shoes when you can. It cuts down rubbing on freshly waxed skin and helps your gel polish stay crisp.
  • Elevate your feet for 10 to 15 minutes when you get home, especially if you sat in traffic around Coliseum Central. Swelling makes feet feel hot and tight.
  • Pat dry, don't scrub. If you rinse, use a soft towel and gentle pressure only.

Skip this for 24 to 48 hours

  • Swimming, soaking, hot tubs, or a Buckroe Beach run the same day. Water and heat are the fastest way to irritate waxed areas.
  • Heavy exercise that makes your feet sweat in tight shoes. Humid Hampton summers make this worse, and sweat plus friction is a recipe for tenderness.
  • Picking at waxed skin or rubbing your heels with a file. Let the skin settle first.

The first week: keep the “my feet look so good” feeling without undoing it

People tell us they love that we take our time and don't rush, and you'll get the best payoff when you stay gentle for a week. This is where the softness from the wax and the smooth finish from the sugar scrub last, instead of getting rough again after two days.

  • Skip extra exfoliation for 5 to 7 days. No foot peels, no pumice marathons, no extra scrubs on the same areas we already smoothed.
  • Watch sun and heat on waxed skin. If you're heading to Fort Monroe or sitting outside, keep direct sun off freshly waxed areas. Heat can make skin feel more reactive.
  • Keep socks breathable. Tight socks and sweaty shoes can make toes feel tender and can dull that fresh-pedicure look faster.
  • Be kind to your cuticles. Don't clip at hangnails. Use a little moisturizer instead.

And if you're the type who books again quickly because you loved how it came out, these habits are what keep your feet looking photo-ready until your next visit.

Cooling gel, moisturizers, and the “don't overdo it” routine

After a detox pedi that includes steam, hot stones, wax, and massage, your feet can feel amazing and a little sensitive at the same time. That's normal. The goal is to calm, not to stack ten products.

A simple at-home plan

  • Cooling gel: Reapply sparingly when your feet feel warm or puffy, especially after a long commute. A thin layer is plenty.
  • Moisturizer: Use a gentle, fragrance-light lotion or cream daily to hold onto that wax-soft feel.
  • Avoid strong acids or heavy fragrance: For the first week, skip anything that tingles, burns, or smells intense on freshly treated skin.

If you're in Hampton's humid summer stretch, this routine helps a lot. Sweat and sunscreen can build up fast around sandals, so rinse lightly, dry well, and moisturize after.

When to reach out to our Hampton team (and when it's totally normal)

A little warmth after hot stones or a bit of tenderness on freshly waxed skin can happen. What we don't want is anything that's getting worse instead of settling down.

Usually normal

Mild sensitivity, slight redness that fades, and that “I just had work done” feeling for the rest of the day.
